Drillinginfo has performed a consolidation of counterpart lease polygons. This consolidation has two main benefits.  First, removing the duplicate polygons should provide a cleaner looking and slightly faster map page. Second, it will now be possible to make accurate acreage calculations. Even with the consolidated polygons, you will still be able to get counterpart lease details when in table view.

Hats off to XTO for permitting a 3300′ test in Geneva Co, AL (far SE Alabama) on trend with, ahem, not much that we can see. Could be an eastern extension of shaley facies in the Conecuh embayment, but there’s so little well control and only 3 reasonably close by 2D seismic lines that all we can do is flat out guess. But good luck to them for drilling in a galaxy far, far away… could get interesting….

Online user forums (a.k.a Message Boards) are a great way for the members of an application, like Drillinginfo, to communicate with each other, find answers to common questions, or to ask questions directly to the Customer Support Department.

With that in mind, we’d like to introduce you to the Drillinginfo Discussion Forums.

Once you’ve logged into Drillinginfo, you can always access the forums by clicking on the Help & Training tab and then clicking the link near the top of the page that reads “Online Support Forum”. Registration is simple and takes only a minute or two.

When you post a question in the support forum our Customer Support Department will be notified immediately. We hope you’ll stop by, register, and start contributing to this new online community for Drillinginfo members.

Once registered, don’t forget to click the “Subscribe Forum” link at the bottom of any forum to get email notifications of new posts.

We’ve mapped Ohio permits since 1/1/2009, using %shale as a filter in the formation name and filtering out any multiple target formation objectives. Results include permit target formations named Marcellus, Devonian,and Ohio shale. The permits along the southern shore of Lake Erie are Ohio shale permits at shallow depths <3500′. The belt of permits along the W VA border are Devonian/Marcellus shale permits at slightly deeper depth. Can the Marcellus return great ROI at these shallow depths? Stay tuned…..

We heard ya ! Check out the 2,300 fee leases we just added in Laramie County, Wyoming. Laramie is our newest  LandTrac Lease county and is in the Niobrara Shale play.  Goshen County, Wyoming fee leases to follow.

After extensive work and testing we are pleased to notify our customers that we’ve added lat-long values to approximately 13,000+ existing API #’s based on data we received with our acquisition of HPDI. 8945 of these newly mapped API #’s are producers as shown in the map below; while 5500 are producers which predate the Texas RRC’s first capture of production data (1970).

The mapping of these API #’s now locate nearly 326,000,000 BO,  5.8 TCF, and 1.3 BBOE of additional allocated production.

You may download the spreadsheet of API #s (sorted by county), to find API #’s that may be of interest to you.  Or, just copy and paste the list into the API # box in your searches to see if these newly located API #’s are relevant to the work that you are doing.

Below is an example of the usefulness of this older producing data. This is a map of Terrell Point (3900) field in Goliad Co, TX. The pink circles define the mapped wells in this field previous to our new import. The aqua circles define newly mapped old producers. You now have access to more extensive data within this field.
